Nu York State

Soul meets funk meets latin meets disco when Nu York State come to town! Led by trumpeter-vocalist Danny Gough, NYS are an 7 piece brass led outfit appearing with vocalists or as an instrumental band, making them perfect for background music and dancing at corporate events and quality functions.

NYS have recenetly performed alongside pop band Orson and dance sensations The Egg and regularly play to packed houses at clubs such as The Wardrobe and The Hi-Fi Club in Leeds, Matt & Phreds in Manchester, Soul Tree in Cambridge and Ginglik in London with engagements right across the UK.  NYS will tailor the band size and repertoire based on your requirements. They can appear as a small jazz combo, adopting a more mellow vibe playing instrumental tunes like Watermelon man, Mercy Mercy Mercy and Cantaloupe Island or as a vocal led band playing all the soul/funk/disco classics along with a number of their own "floor-filling" tunes.
